In New York State, only doctoral-level providers can perform psychological testing. This is because the information about you and your difficulties is complex and requires substantial training to be able to interpret and combine to reach conclusions. Typically, only psychologists are trained to perform such testing.
Insurances do not typically cover psychological testing. However, I provide statements so that you can submit them for reimbursement. I am also willing to help and answer questions to aid in the process.
I charge a flat fee of $2000 for testing. I collect payment in full at the time of the first appointment. You are given a Good Faith Estimate before our first appointment so that you have documentation on the cost. Below is a breakdown of the amount of time spent on your case so that you can understand the reason for this price.
In total, the process takes several hours with a lot of work happening behind the scenes (as indicated above). Seldom in medicine do providers spend such a large amount of time addressing only your case. It is also cheaper than many other forms of treatment and testing you are likely considering and seeking. The results may also help you save money as it can provide information to help you better choose treatment options to fit you.
After we conclude testing, we will create a report that summarizes your results. You are provided access to this report. Additionally, you will have a feedback session in which we discuss these results and you can ask your questions. This process ensures you obtain information and leave with an understanding of the findings.
